Meet Our Hosts

Rob

By day, Rob works in sales and lives in the Chicago area. Gaming has been a passion of his throughout his entire life. Some of Rob’s memorable games from childhood are Dungeon!, Tank Battle, Dragonlance and Bingo.

Rob has also been an avid video gamer since the 1980s which prompted him to start the This Xbox Life Podcast in 2008 with co-hosts Mark, Brun, and Kyle. This Xbox Life has over 600 episodes recorded and a strong online community.

After a long hiatus away from board gaming, Rob got back into board games in 2004 and discovered Euro games. Rob regularly plays board games with friends

Mark

Mark works in the tech industry for a global company. When not solving the world’s cybersecurity issues, he enjoys video and board games.  He has played games his entire life starting out with the greats like Uncle Wiggly, Life, Sorry, Clue, and Chutes and Ladders.  Fast forward many years later and gaming branched out to video games with the Atari 2600, NES, Sega Genesis, TurboGrafx-16, with a mix of computer gaming on Commodore 64, Amiga 500, and what we now know as the PC.  Then it was an Xbox world and Mark has owned every Xbox platform released to date.

Recently Mark got back into Board Games and has found a new love for the hobby.  He has discovered games that are far from those he played as a child.  Learning games like Pandemic, Dice Throne, Villainous, Wingspan, Cascadia, and so many more, he has dived into the deep end and has quickly filled his shelves with more games than he can play.

A long time podcaster on This Xbox Life, once that team decided to retire the show after nearly 15 years of recording, Mark decided to help Rob reboot This Board Game Life.  If Mark is not gaming, then something is wrong.  Gaming is Life.
